ACRYLIC COVERS

Acrylic covers are fabricated using two different methods depending upon their size. Solvent fabrication techniques are used when the height plus width plus depth of the acrylic cover is less than or equal to eighty linear inches.  Pedestals greater than eighty linear inches are fabricated using PS30 Glue Joints which employ a two-part acrylic adhesive and are commonly used to fabricate acrylic museum covers.

Defective Conditions:  The following conditions are considered defect and subject to repair or replacement.  Open joints and gouges in acrylic covers; scratches that a visible from a reasonable viewing distance (thirty-six to forty-eight inches) and carbon specs greater than 1MM.

Acceptable Conditions:  Small imperfections caused during fabrication are not considered defects.  These conditions include:

  • Solvent Joints: Air bubbles in joints which can increase in size over time as moisture trapped in the acrylic migrates to the seams.
  • Two-part Acrylic Adhesive: PS30 Glue Joints are nearly bubble free but can still have small bubbles, polishing lines along the joints and variation in the flatness in the acrylic due to polishing.

Additionally, the following conditions are also excluded.

  • Damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, flood, fire, Earthquake, external causes.
  • Damage caused by any modification or alteration to any product after it is shipped by WW Displays or its divisions.
  • Cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents and broken material arising after delivery of the product to the customer.
