WW Pedestals is committed to delivering products of superior quality and value. Quality begins with a design and engineering approach that incorporates twenty years of technical refinements based upon the real world performance of our pedestals in 170 Crate & Barrel retail locations in North America. WW Pedestals uses lock miter construction to increase the glue surface and structural strength of its
Display Platforms. They are precisely machined using advanced CNC routers and cross locking corners are installed in these dados to add structural integrity at the bottom of the pedestal where a display pedestal is likely to open. The cross locking corners are used to mount durable tack glides. WW Pedestals exhibit superior strength and the rectangular display pedestals can support up to 300 lbs. From a structural standpoint, they should last decades.
WW Pedestals is committed to the health of its customers. This is means strict policies for the selection of materials for display platforms and the use of water-based finishes.
WW PEDESTALS MANUFACTURES ITS DISPLAY PEDESTALS IN THE UNITED STATES
Manufacturing Display Platforms in the United States makes sense and creates opportunities. Rather than ordering products from China, Viet Nam or other countries and waiting for ships to cross oceans and international boarders, WW Pedestals can build your Display Platforms to order and ship what you want when you want it. From order to shipment, most display pedestals are completed in a few days.
Additionally, American manufacturing means American jobs. Consumer spending accounts for 70% of all economic activity in the United States. If American companies do not manufacture products in America, employment opportunities for American workers suffer. If American workers cannot spend, demand for products and services in the U.S. decreases and most Americans suffer the effect.
WW Pedestals is proud to manufacture its wood pedestals, solid surface pedestals and laminate pedestals in the United States and is committed to the success of the American worker. We believe their future is our future and their success ensures our success.
WOOD PEDESTAL STAINS AND FINISHES ARE WATER-BASED:
WW Pedestals finishes its wood pedestals using only waterborne stains and finishes that are low in volatile organic chemicals (“VOCs”). Solvent based finishes contain substantial amounts of VOCs and are known to cause respiratory, allergic, or immune effects in infants or children. Some VOCs, such as styrene and limonene, can react with nitrogen oxides or with ozone to produce new oxidation products and secondary aerosols, which can cause sensory irritation symptoms. Health effects caused by VOCs include eye, nose, and throat irritation; headaches, loss of coordination, nausea; damage to liver, kidney, and central nervous system. Some organics can cause cancer in animals; some are suspected or known to cause cancer in humans. Key signs or symptoms associated with exposure to VOCs include conjunctival irritation, nose and throat discomfort, headache, allergic skin reaction, dyspnea, declines in serum cholinesterase levels, nausea, emesis, epistaxis, fatigue, dizziness. Many organic compounds are known to cause cancer in animals; some are suspected of causing, or are known to cause, cancer in humans.
Due to concern for the health of our customers and employees, WW switched to water-based stains and finishes almost a decade ago.
PEDESTAL MATERIALS COMPLY WITH STRICT CALIFORNIA FORMALDEHYDE REGULATIONS:
WW Pedestals manufactures its Display Platforms from materials that meet California Air Resources Board (“CARB”) environmental regulations restricting the use of formaldehyde, regardless of where the pedestals are being sold.
Formaldehyde is used in the production of hardwood plywood, particle board and medium density fiberboard (MDF) fabricated into Wood Pedestals. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified formaldehyde as "carcinogenic to humans" in 2004, based on the increased risk of nasopharyngeal cancer. Formaldehyde was also designated as a toxic air contaminant (TAC) in California in 1992 with no safe level of exposure. To combat this potential health and environmental risk, the California Air Resources Board enacted regulations limiting the use of formaldehyde in hardwood plywood, particle board and medium density fiberboard based products sold in California. On July 7, 2010, the federal government enacted legislation imposing restrictions on the use of formaldehyde on composite wood products similar to the California standards. Federal regulations limiting the use of formaldehyde in composite wood products do not, however, go into effect until July of 2011. Until the federal laws restrictions go into effect, pedestal manufacturers are not regulated in their use of composite wood panels containing formaldehyde unless their products are sold in California or the manufacturer, such as WW Pedestals, has voluntarily chosen to comply with those standards.
You and your family can be confident when purchasing display platforms from WW Pedestals that your display pedestals will not contain undue levels of formaldehyde, whether you live in California, New York or any other state.
